Stylized 福 - "good fortune/blessing" pattern around the rim, its not all that easy to capture the true color of the pot, it is more white than yellow, with a gentle glowing green hidden in hue.. truly elegant and a special piece to hold, let alone own. The 出水 water pour is well designed and elegant, once you get used to it you can really wield the flow of water and the arc beautifully.  

A teapot like this the same as an altar piece - it carries its own weight and resonance, compelling presence.  Made around 2010

Zhou Weijun 周偉君

Master Artisan, Yixing Zisha Tradition

Zhou Weijun entered the Jiangsu Yixing Zisha Factory in 1976, studying under Senior Arts and Crafts Artist Li Bifang, while also receiving the careful guidance of the late Zhu Kexin, renowned as a master of floral-style Zisha teapots, and the late Gu Jingzhou, widely recognized as one of the greatest Chinese arts and crafts masters.

In 1988 she continued her studies at the Central Academy of Arts and Crafts in Beijing, and in 1990 joined the Yixing Zisha Research Institute, where she devoted herself to innovation and design. From this point, she was recognized among the circle of Yixing masters who specialized in creating unique works.

Zhou is a member of the Jiangsu Arts and Crafts Association and an established Arts and Crafts Artist. In 2011 she was appointed to the Yixing Ceramics Museum • Gu Nong Tao Art Research Institute as a resident craftswoman.

Over more than three decades of dedication, Zhou has formed a distinctive style. Her works span the full breadth of Yixing artistry—ribbed wares, square forms, plain classics, and floral pieces—all crafted with refinement and spirit. Many of her innovations have been awarded at the national level, and her teapots are preserved in the collection of the Wuxi Museum.

Chinese Arts and Crafts Master Bao Zhiqiang praised her in the following words:

“Today, the world of Zisha teapot artistry gathers many renowned figures and abundant talent. Zhou Weijun can be counted among the most outstanding of the younger generation. Some of her works stand elegant and graceful, their lines flowing smoothly to delight the eye. Others are bold and commanding, expansive and harmonious in form, fully displaying the characteristics of her style. Whether square, round, plain, or floral, her works achieve balanced proportions and refined workmanship, revealing both comprehensive skill and a meticulous spirit of creation. On closer appreciation, one perceives ingenious design and rigorous detail, reflecting both cultivated aesthetic taste and rich artistic depth. Zhou Weijun’s mastery of Zisha is the result of decades of continuous cultivation, beginning with strict, formal training at the Yixing Factory and further shaped by the guidance of great masters such as Zhu Kexin and Gu Jingzhou, together with the teachings of Li Bifang. Combined with her own sensitivity and unrelenting dedication, her works embody beauty and utility alike, fully expressing refinement, spirit, and essence, and winning the admiration of connoisseurs in China and abroad.”

Additional note: In 1976 Zhou entered Apprentice Class B at the Yixing Factory. Because of her outstanding natural talent, she graduated ranked “at the top of her class.” (At the same time, Han Hongbo—now Director of the Ancient Pottery Research Institute—also graduated “at the top of his class” from Apprentice Class A.)

Among Zhou’s classmates were many who would go on to become celebrated contemporary Zisha artists, including Wu Ming, Ge Taozhong, Hu Yongcheng, Li Huifang, and Gao Xiangjun.

周偉君

周偉君，1976年進江蘇省宜興紫砂工藝廠，師從高級工藝美術師李碧芳，並得已故紫砂花貨聖手朱可心老師、及已故中國工藝美術大師顧景舟先生的悉心專業指導。

1988年參加中央工藝美術學院紫砂班深造。

1990年進紫砂研究所從事創新設計。(自此成為專造特藝品的紫砂名家行列)

周偉君老師為江蘇工藝美術學會會員、工藝美術師，2011年獲聘進入古農真壺旗下中國宜興陶瓷博物館•古農陶藝研究所工藝美術師。

通過30餘年的紫砂藝術生涯，其作品形成自己的獨特風格，所創新品屢獲無數獎項，無論筋紋器、方貨、光貨、甚至花貨等等皆有所成果，作品獲無錫市博物館收藏。

當今，紫砂壺藝界名家薈萃，人才濟濟，周偉君稱得上中青年輩中的佼佼者。

觀賞偉君壺藝作品，有的亭亭玉立，線條柔順，令人賞心悅目；有的氣勢挺拔，整體舒展協調，充份顯示了作品的風格特點。
直觀其作品，不論是方貨、圓器還是光貨、花貨，其得體的造型，精緻的作工，無不透顯作者全面扎實的功力，和一絲不茍的創作精神。
細細把玩作品，其巧妙的造型構思，和嚴謹的細部佈局，更能使人領略作者高雅的審美情趣，和豐富細膩的藝術內涵。
周偉君在紫砂壺藝上的功力，已是數十年耕耘不止的結晶。其年少時即得江蘇省宜興紫砂工藝廠嚴格正規的工藝培訓，并經朱可心、顧景舟大師為代表的先輩藝人悉心指導，在老師李碧芳的傳授下，加上自身的悟性與對紫砂壺藝的執着追求，終使每件作品都能達到賞用兼優的效果，和精、氣、神的完美體現，甚得海內外行家讚賞。

老麻瓜特註：1976年周偉君接受安排進入徒工乙班，因工藝天份俱佳，評比以“名列前茅”結業。(註：現職古陶研究所所長的韓洪波先生，當年在徒工甲班亦以“名列前茅”結業。)

周偉君同班同學中，不乏當代知名紫砂作家，其中有：吳鳴、葛陶中、胡永成、李慧芳、高湘君等等。
