How It Works (3 steps)

1. Intake (email or can chat): share birth data, seasonality, sensitivities, preferences.
2. Composition: I study and translate your chart (visible + hidden stems/branches) into aromatic functions (ex. stabilize Earth, nourish Water, soften Metal, free Wood, brighten Fire etc).  I offer you a few variants on your chart that serve different purposes - you decide on one.
3. Delivery & Tuning: you receive your perfume + notes; we tune with one guided refinement (tier-dependent).

On Chinese Climatic Astrology, Bazi "8 Pillars"

We are born into the continuum of Heaven and Earth. The moment of birth is inscribed in cycles of celestial stems (天干) and terrestrial branches (地支)—a cosmic rhythm of Yin and Yang, Five Phases, and Six Qi. This inscription, called Ba Zi 八字, used in Daoist medicine as "climatic astrology" as well as a constitutional map that practitioners have used for millennia to understand body, temperament, and spirit.  This is not exactly fortune-telling; it is a physiology of climate.

Each stem and branch is not only an abstract symbol, but carries climatic forces of Wu Yun Liu Qi 五運六氣—wind, heat, damp, dryness, cold, fire—interacting with the Five Phases. Together they form the psychophysical climate we are born into. The Stems and Branches theory is essentially a philosophy of space and time embodied in human life.  Wu Yun Liu Qi 五運六氣 teaches that each era carries its own climatic breaths. Thus, each person is born both into an inner arrangement of elements and into a wider atmosphere of time. The Five Movements and Six Qi are the macro-weather of any given period. They explain why two people with the same daymaster feel different in different years, and why a formula that fits constitutionally may still want seasonal tuning. In Stems & Branches teaching this is the heart of constitutional reading: where the Five Phases are fluid, where they tangle, and how the Six Qi (wind, heat, damp, dryness, cold, fire) imprint tendencies at the level of body and Shen.  The physician reads this to prevent and treat sickness; and I as aromatic artist may translate it into a scent that weaves an individuated cosmic harmony.

This aromatic translation is meant to nourish the constitutional Qi, nourishing the roots, and guide the unfolding of one’s life path. Illness and imbalance arise when the Heaven–Human continuum (天人合一) is disrupted; healing & evolution means first restoring resonance.  "Harmony predicates evolution" is a keystone truth here.

Fragrance in this context is not mere adornment but a rather joyous subtle alchemical medicine. Like an herbal formula, it is composed of Principle, Associate, and Transformative elements, . Each aromatic—sandalwood, rose, oud, citrus peel—carries an elemental resonance and a function for Jing, Qi, or Shen: to anchor essence, free constraint, soften grief, clarify vision, brighten joy etc.  There are a lot of correspondences and layers that form the backdrop tapestry.

So we are not chasing a personality profile; we are composing for the way your space–time circulates—what needs to move, what needs to settle, what needs gentle warmth or clarity. Scent becomes applied space–time hygiene of sorts.

Personal Notes: 

I’m very much indebted and grateful for my late Daoist doctor and dear friend with whom I was working on a few projects like this before he passed away, such unique forms of constitutional analysis and fragrance modality.  We were going to have a clinic and tea house in Hawaii where these beautiful transformative modalities could thrive, maybe one day still.
