Western Red Cedar - Like a campfire made with the finest dry cedar, but not overly smokey and isnt overpowering at all. I really enjoy this one because it focuses on a single element, and it comes through perfectly. For a pacific northwest guy like me, this is one of my favorite scents and no other cedar incense I've smelled is even close to this. It's like you're right there in the forest under the tree... well and part of the tree is burning haha. 10/10
Sovereign - I love frankincense and often burn the resin on a mica plate over charcoal, but this one is more complex (since it's a blend) and is much smoother than straight resin. If there is one word for me on this it's 'clean' - it's like it cleans the air around you and you're left with this crystal clear feeling.
This is a beautiful journey.
It was perfect, made it easy to make sure friend got the scents they wanted. Great customer service and amazing smells.
Love it. I've bought it three times. It is like a Bhutan stick in a different format with added refinement. It's a really nice addition to the offerings.
This is spectacular incense you won't find anywhere else. It's so exquisite. The materials are very fine. I basically order every month. Ken is a master. I can't imagine what my incense journey would be like without Yi-Xin Craft. My first true scent of agarwood was experienced here and it was a game changer! I highly recommend this "house of incense."
When I first was exposed to Ken’s unadorned approach to presenting agarwood, I was kind of miffed, surprised, confused. I was used to the approach almost all incense makers have toward making high end agarwood sticks, in blends with other exotic ingredients which mask an undercurrent sourness I sense in sticks from Ken, like Brunei, Sundaland, and Borderlands. It reminds me of when I first tasted Talisker, an extremely smoky and peaty brand of scotch after only being exposed to the sweet ones like Balvenie. I grew to prefer smokey and peaty scotch in a few years. My education with Ken’s agarwood only took a few months. Sometimes only incense like Borderlands will do.
I really have grown to appreciate Ken’s approach to presenting agarwood. Most agarwood sticks on the market, from Japan and other craft houses, are presented as a blend, but many of Ken’s agarwood sticks are presented in unadulterated form. Once I got used to the sour aftertaste which resides within sticks like Sabah Senkoh, I began to crave it along with the traditional sweet richness. As far as I know, no one else presents agarwood as plainly and potently as Ken.
Yi-Xin Craft incense has provided many pleasant and necessary diversions for me over the past year. It has been an education on my road to understanding agarwood with and without frills.
Very rich and complex mix of scents, took me a few days and repeated sessions to get used to the Devadaru blends, but when I did…….
.
one of my favorites....it puts me right in juniper and pinon forests!
As with all of Ken’s incense, this one is amazing. I am always impressed with Yi-Xin’s intricate balance of subtlety and power using unique aromatics. It’s hard to choose one because you can’t really go wrong with any of them!
No one ingredient overpowering. It will be a perfect offering for my family's solstice ceremony this year. Thanks for sharing your art with us to elevate our special experience.
Gifts of the Magi transports me to a different time and place. It's my all-time favorite of all Yi-Xin's incense. The combination of all the ingredients feels somehow 'complete' to me. Thanks so much for this incense and its transportive nature!
Yi-Xin Incense is the most amazing product in the incense arena. I've burned incense for over 50 years and never experienced anything as marvelously aromatic and satisfying as this incense. If you haven't experienced Yi-Xin incense, you must. It's truly unique.
Great purchase. Arrived timely and well packaged. Both the two packs I ordered and the two samples included (THANKS!) smelled wonderful.
